Verna N. Barrett, age 76 of Georgetown, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Christopher P. Barrett.  Born in Norwalk on October 17, 1946, to the late Verner and Vera Lindblom Nordlund.  Verna was an administrative assistant for Pepperidge Farm and the Wilton Police Department before devoting all her time to her loved children and later in life her beloved grandchildren. She was a member of The VASA Order of America, a charter & life member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Wilton Senior Center, Norwalk Senior Center and an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Redding.  She enjoyed volunteering for Stay at Home of Wilton  and Wilton Visiting Nurses & Hospice Care.  In her free time she loved baking, bowling, maintaining her many potted plants, gardening and serving her local community.  Together with her husband of 55 years they traveled by car to all US states except Hawaii. In addition to her husband Christopher, she is survived by her daughter Cheryl B. Muniz and her husband Victor of Wilton, her son, Daniel C. Barrett of Huntsville, AL, her brother, Eric V. Nordlund and his wife Britt of Wilton, Granddaughter Victoria Muniz and Grandson Matthew Muniz.  Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 am, 44 Portland Ave. Georgetown, followed by interment in Branchville Cemetery.  Friends may greet the family on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bouton Funeral Home of Georgetown, 31 West Church St, Georgetown.
