Obituary

Susan Anne Lewis passed away at Wilton Meadows on February 20, 2024.  She was born on June 10, 1959, in St. John's, Newfoundland, to Shirley Goodall Lewis and Charles B. Lewis, Jr., who was stationed at Pepperrell Air Force Base at the time.

Susan graduated from Wilton High School in 1978 and attended Eastern Connecticut State University and LaGrange College in Georgia.  Susan was a warm-hearted person, accomplished at drawing and art in her youth.  She sang in the high school chorus and in several church choirs.

Susan lived for many years in Norwalk, participating in the Keystone House programs and walking all around the city.  She and her family enjoyed weekly Sunday dinners together where Susan would share often humorous stories of her experiences, was ever at-the-ready for a game of Scrabble, and regularly played Bridge.  Before the pandemic, Susan enjoyed going on outings with her family.  She took great pride in giving gifts and had a way of finding wonderful birthday and Christmas presents at bargain prices.   Susan lived in a Norwalk nursing home through the pandemic until last year when she moved to Wilton Meadows, and her father visited Susan many times a week.  Susan's family is grateful to Susan's Norwalk caregiver Chris, to Keystone House, and to the people of Wilton Meadows and Norwalk Hospital.

In addition to her father, Susan is survived by Christine and Dorel Radu, Sharon Lewis Grace, and Susan's nephews, Timothy and James, as well as her niece Olivia.  Susan is predeceased by her mother and her sister Cathy.

Susan's memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00am at the United Methodist Church of Westport and Weston, 49 Weston Road in Westport.  In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Susan may be made to Keystone House at the following address: Development Office, 147 Main Street, Norwalk, CT  06851, or to a charity or house of worship of one's choice.
