Stanley J. Fox III passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on June 24, 2023.  Stanley is survived by his wife MaryAnn Fox of Calais Maine, children (nee Mary Dana Penfield) Susan Fox-Pieratti (Lawrence) and Joseph (Stanley J. Fox IV) Downey (Melissa) and grandchildren; Jesse and Noah Pieratti, Owen and Averill Downey, brother Anthony Fox (Marie), sisters Ann Ignacio and Christine Pasiakos and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved brothers-in-law Dr. Antonio Ignacio and Serafim Pasiakos.

Born  on July 6, 1939 to Stanley and Helen Fox in Norwalk, Connecticut, Stanley served in the U.S. Navy returning and taking up his place as third generation employee at New Haven Railroad.  His love of both the open road and ocean soon called him to long careers as both professional trucker and diver taking him all over the US and Canada and to the ocean bottom along the northeastern coast giving him many stories to regale his loved ones with. He eventually settled along the coast of Maine where he fostered and homed countless abandoned cats and a few dogs.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, June 27th from 5-7 pm at the Bouton Funeral Home 31 West Church Street Georgetown, CT.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon on Wednesday June 28th at Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church St, Georgetown, CT with internment immediately following at St.  Mary's Cemetery in Ridgefield, CT.
