Rose C. DiOrio, 93, passed away on August 27, 2015, at Victory Lakes Nursing Home in Lindenhurst, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, James DiOrio, of 54 years, and lived in Ridgefield, CT. Rose was born in Branchville, CT, on July 19, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Luigi and Giacinta DiMartinis DioGuardio. She graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1941 and attended the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Norwalk, CT. She worked for many years at Gilbert & Bennet, and Connery Brothers in Georgetown, CT, and as a bank teller at Union Savings Bank in Ridgefield, Ct. Rose was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown, CT. She loved her "sweets", word puzzles, and keeping up with the local news. Rose is survived by her sister, Mary Williams, of Stratford, CT, and her son, James, his wife, Katie, of Antioch, Illinois, and her cherished grandchildren: Gina DiOrio, Daniel Kaiser, and Kim Panasewicz (Justin), two great grand children, Marlie, and Lincoln Panasewicz, and many nephews and nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M, on Monday, October 5th, at Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church Street, Redding, CT, 06896, with Reverend David C. Leopold officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield, CT. Friends will be received from 4:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, October 4th at Bouton Funeral Home, 31 W Church St, Wilton, CT, 06897.
