It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Paul Boyd announces his passing on Monday, December 3, 2018, at age 89. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Peggy , and his daughters ( " the 4 Ms " ) , Missy , Mary (John), Meg , and Marnie (Denny). Bob was the proud grandfather of Kate (Chris), Courtney, Jack, Maggie, and Grace. He was predeceased by his half-brother , Steven , and step- brother , Paul. Bob will be fondly remembered by his kind aides and friends at Wilton Commons , most especially by his dear friend and fellow Scotsman, Alex .
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bob graduated fro m Frankford High School and LaSalle College. During the Kor e an War, he proudly served as a medic with the 180 th Infantry Regiment, 45 th Infantry Division (the Thunderbirds ) . Bob had a long career as an executive in the cosmetics industry, with positions in operations, manufacturing , and packaging. Bob was a kind and generous man who loved God, his country, his family, his friends, and his Philadelphia Eagles ; he joyously celebrated their Super Bowl LII win earlier this year .
A memorial service in honor of Bob will be held on Saturday, December 8 , 2018, at 1 1:00 a .m., at Wilton Commons , 21 Station Road , Wilton, Connecticut , with Rev. Damian K. Pielesz of Our L ady of Fatima Church in Wilton officiating. Interment will follow in the spring at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Pennsylvania .
Bob cared deeply about his fellow veterans. Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Bob to the Gary Sinise Foundation, 1901 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA 90067. The Foundation was established under the philanthropic direction of actor Gary Sinise ( " Lt. Dan " in the movie Forrest Gump ) . The Foundation's outreach supports those who sacrifice to defend our country: active duty, veterans, first responders, and their loved ones.
