Nancy O'Connell Sherwood, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2021, while residing at White Oak Manor of Waxhaw, NC. She was born on June 2, 1940, in New Canaan, CT to James and Dorothy O'Connell, both predeceased. On May 4, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Richard Sherwood, also predeceased. They were married for 54 years. She has one sibling, Edward O'Connell (spouse Kathleen O'Connell) residing in Fair Hill, MD.

She was the beloved mother of daughter Rita Sherwood Legan (spouse Robert Legan) of Waxhaw, NC and son Kenneth J Sherwood (spouse Karen Sherwood) of Bethel, CT. Grandmother to Krissy Vinson, Tricia Fischer, Ashley Rivera and Briana Bush. Great Grandmother to Cody Legan, Kaitlyn Legan, Reese Fischer and Caleigh Fischer.

Nancy was a long-term resident of South Salem, NY before relocating to Waxhaw, NC to retire. She was an avid shopper of unique gifts, jewelry and such and enjoyed that tremendously. Nancy also loved traveling in their luxury motor home to new and exciting places with her husband. She loved all her fur babies, especially her last one Abby. Nancy had a passion for baking and cooking and would share her favorite recipes with family friends. She will be missed by many.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday Oct 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church St. Georgetown. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, 352 Main St. New Canaan
