Obituary

Nancy Elizabeth Husta age 87, beloved daughter of the late Edward Reginald Rhodes and Elsie Mordan passed away on January 30, 2016 in her residence at Wilton Meadows  in Wilton, CT.  Nancy was born in New York, NY on the 25 th of August in 1928, growing up in  Douglaston, NY on Long Island, Nancy graduated from Bayside High School, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Goucher College in Baltimore Maryland.  In 1952 Nancy married Richard Husta in Little Neck, Long Island which began a loving marriage of 63 years and saw the birth of three sons.

Besides being a loving wife, and mother to three boys Nancy was a substitute teacher and avid gardener, a member of the Wilton Garden Club for almost 50 years.  Having a love for nature, Nancy and her husband Richard devoted many hours of volunteer time, involved in various beautification projects in the town of Wilton, CT. where they settled to raise their family.

The couple also volunteered their time to St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Wilton as well as many charitable causes which included The Annual Wilton Library Book Sale, Minks to Sinks and also becoming members of the Wilton Historical Society which led them to participate in the renovation and beautification of Ambler Farm starting in 1999, a project which they were very proud of.   Family time was devoted to attending various sports activities with their sons, family camping trips, fishing for bluefish on Long Island Sound and cross country trips.

In addition to being survived by her husband Richard of Wilton, CT, Nancy is survived by her sons CAPT Peter Husta, USN-Ret. and his wife Lic.Madhya Husta and Bruce Husta and his wife Sue and daughter-in-law Shelley.  Also surviving are her grandchildren Chris, Robert and Gregory.  Her brother William Rhodes also survives her.  Nancy was predeceased by her loving son David Husta.

Funeral services for Nancy will take place on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:30 am in St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 36 New Canaan Rd, Wilton, CT 06897.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation www. jdrf .com .

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bouton Funeral Home 31 W. Church Street, Georgetown, CT 06829.
