Michael A. Lanoue passed away Saturday evening, February 27 th , at his home surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his parents Armand and Bertha Lanoue and his brother Donald Lanoue from Newport, Vermont. "Mickey", as family and friends knew him, graduated from University of Vermont with a major in Political Science. While attending college he became a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and sat on their board. He married Sharon Behan from Redding, Connecticut and moved to Washington D.C. after joining the Department of the Treasury as a Customs Officer. In 1982, Mickey moved to the Customs Offices in New York City, from which he retired in 1989 to join his wife in their family business Canine College located in Redding, CT. Mickey and Sharon raised two daughters, Stephanie and Michelle. Later, he became president of the General Israel Putnam Fife and Drum Corps. Mickey was passionate about golf, loved to fish and always had a cup of coffee in his hand. He leaves behind his wife Sharon, his two daughters Stephanie Kassner and Michelle Huntsperger, as well as their spouses Joshua Kassner and John Huntsperger and four lovely granddaughters Mackenzie, Abigail, Johanna and Samantha. Our Mr. "Go with the Flow" is sadly missed.
The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to:
