Mary Margaret Piazza, age 83, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Mario J. Piazza

Born in Springfield, MA on March 7, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Fannelli Starr. Mary Margaret's career was in education, first as a teacher at Chamberlain Elementary in New Britain and eventually as a principal at Coventry Grammar. She received her PhD from the University of Connecticut in 1983. An art enthusiast, she served as a docent at the New Britain Museum of Art for the past twenty years.

Mary is survived by her son Mario Piazza and his wife Katy of Weston, and grandsons Jonathan and Christopher. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Dr. Arthur Starr and a beloved niece, Cheryl Piazza.
