Obituary

Mary Elizabeth McDonald Boulin, age 87 of West Redding, CT and widow of Jean Felix Boulin, passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Griffin Hospital in Shelton, CT.

Born in Theresa, NY she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Ruth Carpenter McDonald.  A graduate of the College of New Rochelle and Catholic University, Mary was proud member of  the Sacred Heart Church community and volunteered her time  with  many church activities. She loved the outdoors,teaching, art, traveling, gardening, and being both a mother and grandmother. She was an  art teacher for 33 years who taught in Lake Placid, New York as well as other schools before concluding her career in the last twenty years in the Bethel, CT School System at Rockwell Elementary School. Her dedication to her profession and love of her students made her a popular teacher within the Rockwell community.  The love that she had for her students was matched only but the love she had of being a grandma to her granddaughter Kate Boulin.

Survivors include two sons and their wives; Peter Boulin and wife Docia of Trumbull and Michael Boulin and his wife Anja Goethe of Berlin, Germany. 1 granddaughter, Kate Boulin and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her husband Jean Felix Boulin by her brother Paul McDonald.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church St. Redding,  CT 06896 (Georgetown). Burial will follow in Umpawaug Cemetery, Redding.  Visiting hours will be held on Monday August 21, 2017 at the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church St. Georgetown from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Sacred Heart Church.  To offer online condolences please visit
