Mary-Ann Cardillo, of Redding, CT, passed away peacefully at home, on November 29, 2024. Born on September 18, 1943 in South Norwalk, CT, daughter of the late Andrew DiPietro and Chiara (Benincaso) DiPietro. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Michael S. Cardillo Sr., just seven months ago. She never overcame the loss of the love of her life.
Throughout her life, Mary-Ann left a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford and the National Academy of Hairdressing in Norwalk. She worked as a hairdresser until the birth of her first child at which time she dedicated her life to taking care of and raising her children. Once her children were grown, she worked in the office with her husband for Mariano Cardillo and Sons, Inc.
Mary-Ann was an avid reader and always had a book or Kindle nearby. She cherished her lunch dates and having coffee with friends. She loved playing games with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places and especially spending the winter months in Grand Cayman.
Mary-Ann was known for her vibrant personality and strong will. She was passionate in her beliefs and opinions. She would do anything for those she cared about. If you knew Mary-Ann then you knew where you stood with her. Mary-Ann was truly one of a kind.
Mary-Ann will be profoundly missed by her three children: Michael Cardillo Jr.; Mark Cardillo and his wife Vicky; Marlene Cardillo; and her grandchildren: Courtney and her husband Ben, Sarah, Alison, Andrew, and William. She is also survived by her siblings: Joseph DiPietro, and Gloria DiPietro and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Andy DiPietro.
Services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Umpawaug Cemetery , 149 Umpawaug Rd. Redding.
