Mary Margaret
Aliaga-Kelly
Dec 16, 1961 — Sep 4, 2022
Mary-Margaret (Maggie) Aliaga-Kelly, wife of Ambrose, mother of Charlie and Scarlett; daughter of Charles Schmitt and sister to Melinda, Danny, Charlie and Suzanne passed on Sunday September 4 th at White Plains Hospital from cancer.
Maggie was born and raised in St Louis where she attended Clayton High School and studied acting at the Conservatory at Webster University. She moved to New York City in 1986 to continue her acting studies with Wynn Handman before pursuing her other great passion of visual art by joining the emerging Soho gallery scene.
She and Ambrose were married in 1999 in Ireland where they returned every Summer to spend time in her beloved County Mayo. While raising Charlie and Scarlett in their Wilton home, a great interest in politics led her to begin writing. Initially she chronicled the political turmoil of the early 2000's before shifting her focus to a biography of her father, a charismatic automobile dealer who sold Rolls Royce's to a who's-who of Hollywood stars in the 1960s & 70s.
Maggie was a devoted mother and loyal friend who placed family above all else, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
