Obituary

Martin "Marty" John Heibeck, 74, of Georgetown, passed away at his home on Monday, June 1, 2026.

A Norwalk native, Marty was the son of the late George Heibeck Sr. and Barbara Haajanen. Marty was happiest when he was working with his hands, especially fixing and towing cars for the family business. He was also incredibly proud of his service as a volunteer firefighter with the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department, carrying on a long-standing family tradition of civic pride and community support.

To know Marty was to know his love for country music. Whether you jumped into his personal car or climbed into his tow truck, you were guaranteed to hear country tunes blasting from the speakers. Marty was the life of the party, and you could always count on finding an ice cold bottle of Budweiser in his hand. He was also the ultimate town historian and neighborhood watch; if anything happened in town—from a minor incident to a major fire—Marty knew about it first!

Marty is survived by his children, Lindsay Ehrhard (Jeffrey), Christy Tassitano (Hunter), and Martin Heibeck Jr. (Jennafer). He was a beloved brother to Thomas, Michael, and George Heibeck, and Bobby Smith. He was also a proud grandfather to Jaxson and Ella Tassitano; Addyson and Benjamin Heibeck; and Derek, Colten, and Riley Ehrhard. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his loving and caring aide, Marissa Ridgeway whose devoted companionship and compassionate support meant the world to Marty and his family.
