Marion Lucille
Ziem
Mar 30, 1931 — Oct 26, 2026
Wilton

Bouton Funeral Home
4:00 - 6:00 pm (Eastern time)
Marion Lucille Ziem passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2026, at the age of 95.
Marion is survived by her three children: David Ziem and wife Dale of Bethel, Holly Secskas and husband Ken of Shelton, and Thomas Ziem and Lisa Michelson of Easton. Marion was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Walter Ziem, her son Kenneth Ziem, and brother Kenneth Youngquist.
Marion was born in Wilton, CT on March 30, 1931, daughter of Adolph and Florence Youngquist. She attended grammar school in Wilton and graduated from Staples High School in Westport in 1949. Married to Walt in 1952, they spent their early married years on a naval base in Florida. Marion had a creative streak, and loved cooking, cake decorating, gardening, candle making and finding treasures at tag sales to decorate her home. But it was her role as mother to her beloved four children that she treasured most. Marion raised her children in her hometown. She was very proud of her heritage, and her long ties to Wilton, CT.
After their children were grown, Marion and Walt enjoyed many adventures together to destinations abroad, and Marion spent time volunteering at the Methodist Church thrift shop in Georgetown. In recent years, her greatest joy was spending weekly Monday night family dinner with her children, a tradition that continued until just before her passing.
A special thank you to Delores, for her devoted care and companionship for the past five years.
Visiting hours will be held at Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street in Georgetown, CT on Wednesday, November 4 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
All other services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Marion to a charity dedicated to Alzheimer's, dementia, or cognitive disorder research and support.
