Margaret "Peggy" Mickayl passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 at the age of 76.

Peggy was born in Norwalk CT and grew up in Wilton. Peggy graduated from Wilton High School and attended Bradford College where she earned her associate degree.

For many years, Peggy worked along side her husband Robert (Bob) Mickayl as an equine barn manager and trainer for several prominent farms in CT and NY.

In 1978, Peggy and Bob became owners of Continental Awards, a popular equestrian and canine focused awards company. In addition, Peggy ran her own business where she was the secretary of many prominent horse shows on the East Coast, including Old Salem Farm, the Hampton Classic and the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden.

Peggy had a love of all animals as well as dance. She was able to share and enjoy both passions with her sister and her daughter over the years.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Naomi Gauruder of Brookfield, her sister Sara Curtis of Wilton, and many extended family members. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Robert, son in law Gary Gauruder, and parents, Alice and William Curtis.

A private burial will be held at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport CT.  Friends and family will be received in her family home in Brookfield on Monday, January 13th from 2pm to 5pm. To offer condolences please visit www.boutonfuneralhome.com
