Madeline Gouveia, age 81, of New Milford, CT beloved wife of Gabriel E. Gouveia, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Yale-New Haven Hospital on November 1, 2015. Madeline was born June 4, 1934 to the late George Kmetz and Madeline Hoisik in New York, New York. Madeline loved spending time at the senior center in New Milford, she loved playing bingo, reading and swimming. Madeline met her husband Gabriel when he was the Best Man and she was the Maid of Honor at a family wedding. They were married just shy of 60 years and raised 5 children, her daughter Michele and her husband Jeffery, her daughter Madeline, her son Steven and his wife Susan, her son Gabriel and his wife Maria and her daughter Julia all of whom survive her. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Paul, Sabrina, Arthur, Johnathan, Jacklin, George, Michael, David and Harrison. Also surviving her is her 5 month old great-grandson Benjamin. Madeline is also survived by her sister Georgianna Gagnon. Madeline was predeceased by her sister Annabelle Deutsch. Funeral Services for Madeline will take place on Saturday at 10:30 am, November 7, 2015 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 30 Church Street, Redding, CT 06896. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to services from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown, CT 06829.
