Lucy Rose Del Biondo Scala age 89, beloved wife of Richard Scala passed away on January 18th at Ridge Crest Health Center in Redding. In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her sons, Tom and Greg, daughter-in-law Lori, grandchildren Canyon, Chelsea, Sage, Dillon, and Kaylee.  She is predeceased by her son David.

Lucy was born and raised in Branchville Connecticut the youngest of five children and attended Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown. Lucy was a graduate of Katharine Gibbs and excelled at typing and shorthand. She served as an executive assistant at Schlumberger.

After having known her future husband since elementary school; they were married at Sacred Heart Church followed by a large reception at the Outpost Inn in Ridgefield. The couple spent a few years living in Washington DC where Lucy worked for the Federal Reserve.  The couple moved back to Ridgefield where she served as an administrator at her husband's dental practice. Lucy was a stunning red-head, artistic, a GREAT Hockey Mom, loved gardening, decorating and caring for her husband and three boys. She spent many years volunteering with Literacy of America where she helped adults learn to read.  Her warm and friendly personality and loving devotion to her family and friends will be greatly missed.

Friends and relatives are invited to attended a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church St. Redding followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield. ( Masks are required at the church )
