Lois
Bobletz
d. Apr 14, 2020
Lois Ann Bobletz, age 92 years, a lifetime resident of Pound Ridge, NY died on Tuesday April 14, 2020. Lois was the daughter of Harry E and Adeline (Brotherton) Scofield. She was born in Mt. KIsco, NY on August 25,1927. Lois was a graduate of Katonah High School and Shore Secretarial School. She also attended various management seminars at the University of Massachusetts. Lois started her career as a Manager and Assistant Cashier of The Northern Westchester National Bank (later known as Bankers Trust) in Pound Ridge and then was the bookkeeper and office manager at Scotts Corners Market. She joined Village Savings Bank in 1969 as Assistant Manager of the Pleasantville office. At the time of her retirement in 1981 she was Vice President and Branch Coordinator. Lois enjoyed her retirement years volunteering at The Pound Ridge Historical Society, The Hiram Halle Library or spending time laughing with family and friends in Daytona Beach and her home on Cape Cod. She loved planning and hosting her traditional Memorial Day picnic at her home in Pound Ridge that lasted for three days, an event which brought people together from far and wide. In her later years Lois especially cherished her daily visits with her devoted brother in law Neil "Yogi" Hill, who she considered as more of a son and whom she loved dearly. Her green thumb was something to be envious of and her spaghetti sauce was legendary with all who were fortunate enough to be seated at her table. Her genuine love for animals was not only limited to the many dogs she shared her life with but also for the multitude of wildlife, a familiar sight at her Pound Ridge home that she took great joy in observing through the years. Lois is survived by her brother Jerry Scofield of Cornwall, CT, her sisters Linda Basso and Nancy "Nanny" Hill both of South Salem, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Lois was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Samuel C Bobletz "Bobby" who died in 2009, brothers Harry and Don Scofield, and sister Barbara Jean Harkin. Lois will be remembered for her laughter and her mischievous unmatched wit. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. However, we all take great comfort in the knowledge she is reunited for eternity with her beloved Bobby. Arrangements are being made by Bouton Funeral Home 31 West Church Street Georgetown. CT. There will be no calling hours. Lois will be laid to rest at Pound Ridge Cemetery Pound Ridge, NY. Interment will be held privately. In celebration of a life well lived give a friend a flower in remembrance of Lois.
