Obituary

On Saturday, January 4, 2020, Linda Sue Brandler passed away peacefully in her home in Redding, CT.  Born December 6, 1946 to Mary (Noss) Adler and the late Harry W Adler in Brooklyn, NY.  Linda was raised in Manhasset, NY with her three siblings, and met her loving husband of 50 years, Steven Brandler, at Rochester University, from which she graduated in 1968.  After finishing college, Linda worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City.  She later worked as a programmer analyst for multiple companies, including Pitney Bowes in Trumbull, CT.  Upon retiring from programming, she worked for several years as an IT Specialist for the Mark Twain Library in Redding, where she took great pleasure in reconnecting with many old friends and acquaintances.

Linda loved gardening and spent much of her time cultivating the plants and flowers surrounding her house, just as her father did years earlier.  Linda also enjoyed reading, traveling and drinking her favorite beverage, chai latte tea from Trader Joes.  However, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, Henry and Judy (Brandler) and Madalyn (Mattas), who adored her in return.  In addition to her mother, husband and grandchildren, Linda is survived by her loving children, Michael and Elizabeth, daughter-in-law Jessie, son-in-law George (Mattas), siblings Anya Adler, Thomas Adler and Beverly Jennis, her nieces and nephews, and her cat Sophie.  Linda's joy, humor, and kindness were unparalleled.

Services will be held at Bouton Funeral Home in Georgetown at the convenience of the family.  Contributions in her memory may be made to the Mark Twain Library or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation .
