Lillian Dance Tuttle died April 17, 2016 after a sixteen year battle with Alzheimer ' s disease. She was attended by her loving family and the staff of Masonicare of Newtown. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence C. Tuttle.
Lillian was born June 25, 1929 in Stamford, daughter of the late Malcolm A. and Marie F. Dance.
A consummate homemaker and mother. Lillian attended Darien schools and later earned a degree in Early Childhood. She was the co-founder and Director of Christ Church Preschool, Redding; where she taught Sunday school and served on the Altar Guild. Lillian was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and served as Grand Electa for the State of Connecticut. Lillian was a devoted volunteer for PTA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Connecticut Tourism. She and her husband shared a lifelong passion for travel.
Mrs. Tuttle is survived by her children, Mimi Steil and her husband Thomas of Stratford, CT; Thomas and his wife Judith DiPasquale of John's Creek, GA; Jane Bissonnette of Redding, CT and Darrell and his wife Jessica of New Rochelle, NY; her grandchildren Heather and husband Peter Simoulidis, Mark Bissonnette and wife Panayiota, Lauren Steil and husband Arda Altincatal, Megan Steil, Mallery and husband James Petrone, Madalynn and Olivia Tuttle; her great grandchildren Chris and Alex Simoulidis, Lilliana and Panayioti Bissonnette and Thomas Petrone and a very loving, large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer ' s Association at alz.org.
Services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Christ Church 184 Cross Highway, Redding, CT at 11 am.
