Lawrence Francis Reilly, aged 83, of Bethel CT, died on June 7th, 2023. He was the loving husband of Keara Brady Reilly, beloved father of son Lawrence Francis Reilly Jr, daughter, Elizabeth Reilly Champagne, son Bernard William Reilly, son in law Matthew Champagne, grandfather of Keara Simone Champagne and Julia Maureen Champagne.
Born in New York City on January 3, 1940, he was the son of Lawrence James Reilly and Catherine Honeyman. He graduated from Fordham Preparatory in 1957, Fordham College with a BS in history in 1961, and Fordham Law School in 1964. Larry then clerked for appellate Judge Victor S. Kilkenny. He served as captain in the US Army and was stationed in Albuquerque, NM for 2 years. In 1968, Larry began practicing law at Pitney, Harden & Day where he became partner and head of the real estate department. He was an outstanding attorney and a true gentleman, admired by his colleagues and his adversaries alike. Larry also mentored many young lawyers during his career.
Larry was a humanitarian, an inveterate reader, an avid fan of the NY Yankees & Jets, and an opera enthusiast. While in NJ for 52 years, he was a dedicated volunteer for OLBS parish, Literary Volunteers of America. He served on the boards of COPE and the Job Haines Home.
With the memory of Larry's ability to captivate a room and his legendary sense of humor he leaves behind many treasured friends from Fordham, relatives and friends in NJ and NY, and his extended family.
