Obituary

John M. Findorak, Jr., age 90, filed his last well completion report on December 2, 2024.

A lifelong Wilton resident, John Jr. was born in Norwalk Hospital on July 10, 1934, to the late John Sr. and Irene (Carr) Findorak.

Raised in Wilton Center, John Jr. knew from when he was "knee-high to a grasshopper" working alongside his father, John Sr., that all he wanted was to be a water well driller.

John Jr. graduated from Staples High School in 1952, married his beloved Audrey (Brotherton) in 1953, and together they raised three children. After John Sr.'s sudden passing in 1965, John Jr. became owner-operator of Findorak and Sons, Inc., originally founded in 1925 by his father.  He continued working in his beloved water well drilling trade throughout his life, having only stepped away from his rig recently at age 85. John Jr. continued to offer his expert guidance without hesitation until his recent passing.

John Jr.'s heart was broken with his wife Audrey's passing in 1993. He missed her dearly every day.

John Jr. was a licensed CT Master Well Contractor, a member of the National Ground Water Association, and a past volunteer firefighter with the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department Inc. John Jr. had the honor of responding in the 1929 American La France fire engine's last working structure fire.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Loren.

John Jr. is survived by his children: John III, Robert, and Lisa (as well as beloved son-in-law Aaron Nachbar); five grandchildren: Joseph, Amanda (as well as beloved grandson-in-law Ken Seferi), Audrey, Ashley, and Sarah; and two great-granddaughters.

Interment at Hillside Cemetery will be private.

Family will welcome friends at the Nachbar home, Old Highway, Wilton, on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.

Please consider sending a donation to the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 234 Danbury Road, Wilton CT 06897.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown CT.
