After a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer, we regretfully announce the passing of Joan M. Barrett of Ridgefield, CT on Sunday May 2nd 2021.

Joan was born to Palma and John Bendetti on October 13 ^th , 1952 in Mt. Kisco, NY.  As a child she took care of her nieces and family as best she could.  She started her career at IBM then found her PepsiCo family and finished her career there.

Joan met the love of her life Bill Barrett in 1971 while at a dance club, sparks flew, and they married in June of 1973.  They later went on to have two children, Tiffany, BJ, and a granddaughter Hope Elizabeth.

Joan was a selfless, empathetic, pay it forward type of woman who always put others first.  She was her entire family's biggest cheerleader and their constant supporter no matter what life threw their way.  When things got rough her famous saying was "this too shall pass" and usually, it would.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she would spoil her friends and family full of gifts and a home that was transformed into a winter wonderland.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown, CT on Friday May 7th at 1:00 pm. It will be open to the public and there will be no wake.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital...
