Jennifer Sand Bodurtha, 65, passed away on August 5, 2026, at her home in Redding, Connecticut, with her children and husband by her side after courageously living with Multiple Sclerosis for 38 years.

She was born on March 16, 1961, in Kemmerer, Wyoming, to the late John Sand and Virginia (Cooper) Sand Quinn. Jennifer lived in various towns in New York and New Jersey throughout her childhood and attended St. John Fisher College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She later earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Connecticut State University.

Jennifer met her husband of 40 years, Alan, on a blind date, and they were married on June 14, 1986. She worked in various roles at The Perrier Group for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mom, a role she treasured. In her early years, she enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, camping, hiking, and swimming. She always found joy in spending time with her family and listening to 70s music. Jennifer also had a passion for writing children’s books and was very proud to become the published author of Hildy and Harold Take on the Teasers in 2023. She was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church and found continued strength and resilience through her love of God.

Jennifer is survived by her husband Alan, daughter Kate (Reece Adamson), son Russell (Nora), and grandson Oliver; her siblings David Sand, Carolyn Pickering, and Michael Sand; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jennifer will be remembered for her kindness, love, positivity, ready smile, and infectious laugh. She will be immensely missed and our memories together will be greatly cherished.

Per her request, there will be no services. Donations in her honor can be made to The Connecticut Humane Society or The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
