Obituary

Jan Marie Schechter, aka the Comma Queen, died Tuesday morning from complications from cancer. Jan taught in Wilton, mainly at Cider Mill School, for 37 years. She loved teaching; especially English, Writing, and Grammar.
Upon retirement, she dedicated herself to a Mentoring program working with teenagers in Bridgeport, CT. She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed.

Jan was an avid reader, a lover of Disney World, and most of all, loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Ted, daughter Meredith, and son-in-law Shaun Chambers.
A service will be held: on Saturday, December 1 at Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown at noon. Preceding the service will be a viewing at Bouton Funeral Home beginning at 10:30am.
