James Bruce Holt, age 74, of Redding, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Jayne VanZandt Holt.

Born in Malden, Massachusetts, James was the son of the late Walter and Maria Rosa Holt. For his first career, James worked as a Police Officer with Westport Police and later became the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Dun and Bradstreet and then Scholastic, Inc. James was a Jack of All Trades and enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, and cooking. He was most passionate about spending time with family and friends at Okemo Mountain, where he was an active member of the Race Crew. He also loved to travel the United States and the world for work and with his family.

James is survived by his loving wife, Jayne, his children, Abigail Holt and James Holt, his brother-in-law, Jeffery Vanzandt, his siblings Anna Kent, Margaret Soda, Alex Szabo, and Steven Holt, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
