Obituary

Inez Victoria Jensen McCarthy, born on March 24, 1926 as the oldest of three sisters, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in her home in Redding CT.

Inez grew up in St. Paul, MN, and attended schools there including the University of Minnesota. She was employed by Minnesota Federal Savings and Loan. In the 1946 St. Paul Winter Carnival, she represented the bank as Princess of the Snows. She wed Justin M. McCarthy in June of 1949.

Justin's job for Wyeth Laboratories took them first to Brainerd, MN and then, in 1958, on to company headquarters in Radnor, PA. She was first and foremost a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandmother. She loved to read books, was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching major golf tournaments.

Apart from being a homemaker, Inez served the Radnor community as President of the Friends of the Radnor Memorial Library, the League of Women Voters, and the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund. She also helped raise funds for Bryn Mawr Hospital by volunteering for the Devon Horse Show's hot dog stand.

She is the mother of four wonderful children, Patricia M. Graham (Thomas) of Bradenton, FL, Daniel V. McCarthy (Deborah) of Maplewood, NJ, John D. McCarthy of Carlsbad, CA, and Anne M. Brosko (T. Shawn) of Wilton, CT. Inez is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
