Howard B. Corsa, Jr. passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Regional Hospice on November 15, 2019 at the age of 86.

Howard is survived by his wife, Joan Corsa; daughters Brenda Froehlich and her husband Mark, Allison Hansen and her husband Tim; grandchildren Brian Froehlich and his wife Sara, Danielle Teel and her husband Jack Teel, great-grandchildren Sophie & Lexi Froehlich and several nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Robert Corsa. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard B. Corsa, Sr. and Winifred H. Corsa, brother Donald H. Corsa & sister Grace E. Knowles.

Howard was born on December 14, 1932 in Norwalk Hospital, Connecticut to Howard B. Corsa, Sr. and Winifred H. Corsa. He was a graduate from Staples High School. He married Joan in 1962 after a very long courtship. A man of many traditions, he wanted to provide a proper home for her before "popping the question". Relief and joy were felt from all that knew them when Joanie said "Yes!". Howard was a third-generation Wiltonian. After fulfilling his civic duty in the Army (stationed in Germany) during the Korean War, he worked for life-long friends at Jayne Brothers in Wilton and then had what he called one of his "turns of good luck" when he began learning the trade of carpentry with Walter R.T. Smith Builders also in Wilton. There he learned a myriad of skills on his way to becoming and achieving the level of "master carpenter". His work can be found in many of Wilton's buildings both currently standing and some that have been repurposed.

Howard was loved and admired by all that had the pleasure to have known him. He was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He loved and valued his family above all else. His passions included spending time in Maine, being outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling, taking Sunday drives, his vegetable garden, growing gladiolas, dahlias and especially sunflowers. He is remembered as a kind man, a generous man, a storyteller (in the best sense) and someone who was always trying to put a smile on other's faces, often by telling a witty joke to meet that goal!

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be scheduled at a future date (aiming for spring 2020) at Bouton Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Howard's life. The family would like to thank the many family, friends, doctors, nurses, and volunteers who made Howard's last days and hours on this earthly plane as comfortable for him and us as possible.
