In Memory of Gisela (Gigi) Maria Hees

March 23, 1929 - June 12, 2020

Gisela Hees, originally from Wiesbaden, Germany, lived for many years in Valley Stream, NY and Long Branch, NJ before retiring 6 years ago in Redding, CT.

She had an Analytical Chemistry Degree from the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, Germany. She worked in a number of hospital chemical laboratories before moving to the United States in the mid-50s and continuing her work at Jamaica Hospital in Queens. Afterwards she worked for Coburn Corporation in Yonkers, NY and Lakewood, NJ as an analytical chemist and became actively involved in export sales which led her to form Unique Products in 1972 with a partner. She later formed Unique Design International based in Lakewood, NJ with her son Dieter, resulting in a distinguished career as an entrepreneur.

Ms. Hees was incredibly involved in learning and teaching about metaphysical and esoteric sciences and was a 33 ^rd Degree member of the Rosicrucians, and the Edgar Cayce Institute, and other such organizations. She was a certified handwriting expert.

Ms. Hees loved the Metropolitan Opera and classical music. She was an avid world traveler going on many extended cruises where she loved to ballroom dance and learn about other cultures. She was a force of nature, passionate about skiing, playing tennis, practicing yoga and daily walks on the Long Branch Boardwalk. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren Derek, Conrad, and Fiona and her niece Mary Ann.

She is survived by her sons Dieter, Gerald, and their families.
