George Voss, longtime Wilton resident passed away on January 17, 2021 at the age of 95.
George had a remarkable and accomplished life, having served as a Naval officer in WWII, graduating Harvard, and then embarking on a wonderful career that culminated in his building a great company that manufactured and distributed coatings and lacquers.
George was a confident and gregarious man, who never knew a stranger and truly loved getting together with friends and family. He was also known to be a joker and punster, always with a rejoinder that would make you laugh. He was exceedingly generous and willing to always give back and contribute to causes and people that touched him.
George was a longtime member of Silver Spring Country Club, where he worked diligently on his golf game. His love for golf and baseball were well known. The Red Sox and Patriots were very dear to his heart and he was thrilled to see many championships in his lifetime.
He contributed his time and effort and volunteered tirelessly for the YMCA, Kiwanis, and many other causes in Wilton, where he made his home for 65 years.
George is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; a sister Daphne Fisher; 4 daughters Georgia Viret, Nancey Coppotelli, Meredith Lind, and Sarah Cappelli; his sons-in-law; as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
