Frank Louis
Ferris
Oct 10, 1946 — Jul 3, 2023
Frank Louis Ferris of Wilton, CT, known by many from his appointed seat at Uncle Leo's in Georgetown and by his famous greeting of 'Hey, Meh Meh!', died on July 3, 2023 at age 76 following a recent illness and hospitalization. Frank is predeceased by his life partner of 35+ years, Joan "Joanie" Sears of Joanie's Roadside Deli, who was the love of his life.
Frank leaves behind a number of very close friends who had cared for (and had all but adopted) him following Joanie's passing, including Leo M. Spinelli, Jr. (Uncle Leo) and his son, Leo M. Spinelli III (Little Leo), Ralph and Maureen Tobey, and Kimberly, Sydney and Sadie Wood.
Affectionately referred to as "Frankie", "Frankie Boy" and "Froggy", Frank was known by many and loved by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his gentle soul. Everyone he met was drawn to his smile and pulled in by his energy. Frank's favorite pastime was hanging with his friends while listening to music with a Budweiser in hand.
Born on October 10, 1946 to David and Margaret Ferris, Frank had worked as a Town employee for the Wilton Department of Public Works before starting his own company, Ferris Refuse, which he operated until the time of his stroke.
An avid lover of animals, Frank had owned and adored a number of dogs throughout the years as well as his first bunny, MiMi, and leaves behind his beloved rabbit and companion, Bigfoot.
Frank is survived by his sister, Florence Tagliaferro of Norwalk, CT, and is predeceased by brother David Ferris, formerly of New Hampshire. He is also survived by a daughter, Cheryl Anne Davie.
All who knew and loved Frankie are welcome to join in a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 13th at a time and location to be determined. If you wish to attend, please email: HonoringFrankie@gmail.com
