Eric James Cocks passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 13, 2022. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on November 19, 1948. His mother, Rosa "Lisbeth" Soderman was a Swedish immigrant, and his father, Eric Hamilton Cocks, was an Australian immigrant. Eric and both of his parents were only children. He became involved from a young age and for most of his life at the company his parents started, Spraymation, which developed spray applications for a variety of industrial uses.

Eric met Stella Soule in Manhattan in the 1970s, and they married in 1980. They moved to Santa Monica, CA and had two children, James and Louise. Eric and Stella loved and cared deeply for one another, and they celebrated 32 years of marriage until her death in 2012.

Eric had a love for music from a young age and played many instruments, from bagpipes to guitars to synthesizers. His passion for music led him to volunteer starting in 2008 at the radio station WPKN, where he remained active about sharing his knowledge for music until his death. On his radio program, Connections, he interviewed many influential musicians, and he cherished his many friendships and the community at WPKN.

He is survived by his children, James and Louise, and five grandchildren, William, Clementine, Edward, Marigold and Charlie.
