Obituary

Dorothy R Greenlee, 85 of Wilton died peacefully on April 6,2017 at home surrounded by her family.  Dorothy is survived by her Husband of 64 years the Rev. Malcolm Blake Greenlee, her son Dr. Paul Greenlee of Wilton, her 4 grandsons Sergei, Alexei, Egor and Jeremy, her son-in- law Norman Haug, brother and sister- in- law Dr. John and Anabel Greenlee of Salt Lake City, and her nieces and nephews .  She was predeceased by her daughter Joyce.

Dorothy was born in Chicago Illinois in 1931 to Paul James Richmond and Dorothy Buffington Richmond.  She was raised in LaGrange Illinois where she meet Malcolm her husband of 64 years while attending Lions Township High School. She attended Beloit College in Wisconsin where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Dorothy had a great love of nature enjoying hikes in the woods and along the beach, gathering wild flowers and watching birds.  She was a long time member of the Wilton Garden club.  Dorothy was a local artisan well known for her crafts with her flower business "Real Flowers from Wilton" which she displayed and sold from her basement work shop and at local arts and crafts shows such as the Grange fair and the Historical Society Gift Shop.  She founded and ran the Holly and Ivy Christmas Fair for years with her friends.

She loved animals, birds, her dogs and cats.  Basset hounds were a constant in her life for the last 62 years.  She was even involved in breeding and raising basset pups for a while.

A memorial service for Dorothy will be held at Saint Matthews Episcopal Church 36 New Canaan Rd.  Wilton, Connecticut on Monday May 15th   at 2pm with a reception  to follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wilton Garden Club.
