Deborah (Kosiba) McCarthy of Redding CT, 69, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 11, 2026. She lived a rich and vibrant life.

Born on August 29, 1956 in Norwalk, CT to Edward and Mary (Pikor) Kosiba, Deborah was known for her friendly and inquisitive nature, her commitment to family and career, her empathy and warmth and concern for others, and love for animals and all living things. Deborah was happiest in her garden. She had a special connection with young people and always supported their interests and aspirations. Deborah was a passionate sports fan and stuck with her teams through thick and thin.

Deborah graduated from Staples High School in Westport and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bentley College. Much of her professional career was spent with Perkin-Elmer Corporation and then Applera Corporation where she held a progressive series of managerial roles in Payroll, Employee Benefits, and Treasury/Benefits administration.

Deborah is survived by her husband John of Redding CT, her sisters Patricia A. Kosiba, Barbara K. Misencik, and Katherine M. Kosiba, her nephew Michael Misencik and his wife Sarah, and her great nephew Timothy Misencik. She is also survived by the McCarthy siblings, Ann, Mary Kate, Eileen, Thomas (and his wife Catherine), and the nieces and nephews that remember the nurturing influence she had on their lives. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, James T. Misencik.

Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown (Wilton), CT 06829. Deborah’s Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 21 at St. Patrick’s Church, located at 169 Black Rock Turnpike, Redding, CT. A private committal service will be held at a later date for the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Danbury Regional Hospice. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Danbury Regional Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided to Deborah and her loved ones during her final days.
