Beth Allen
Northway
May 3, 1979 — Jul 3, 2023
Elizabeth Allen Northway, age 44, of Croton on Hudson passed away suddenly on Monday, July 3, 2023, from natural causes. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend.
Born in New York on May 3, 1979, "Beth" was the daughter of Cornelia S. Northway and the late John K. Northway Jr. She was a 1997 graduate of Harmony Heights High School in Oyster Bay Long Island. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Literature and Theater from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. Beth was an extremely bright and passionate person and, though very private, she was able to leave an impression on everyone who knew her. She could spend hours passionately discussing her love of snakes, science fiction books, comic-Con, and our family heritage.
Beth was an amazing animal lover all her life, from a childhood obsession with horses to stints working at several animal hospitals and farms. Her snakes, including Tiberius, Helena, and Artemis, were treated better than most dogs and cats. Though suffering severely from a childhood accident at the age of five, she persevered even through several rounds of physical and mental health issues that plagued her throughout her life. Her sense of humor was as "dry as a stack of saltines," as anyone who friended her on Facebook can attest with her late-night posts. She loved reading and collected books, especially Jim Butcher science fiction novels. To her friends she was always tuned into the newest movies and trends. She worked almost 20 years in the real estate and title search industry and was known as a hard worker and dedicated teammate.
Beth is survived by her mother Cornelia, her brother Jay and his wife Trisha, her brother Rob and his wife Nicole, nieces Kae and Mackenzie, and nephew Zachary. Beth is predeceased by her father John "Jack" Northway.
