Obituary

Bartholomew Di Chiara, 74 years old, passed away in the loving company of his wife of nearly 50 years, Katri, on Monday, September 21, 2015 at their home in Redding, CT. He will be fondly remembered as soulmate and devoted husband as well as father, inspiration and faithful friend to his three children. Bart was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 6, 1941 to Bartholomew and Martha DiChiara . He graduated Teaneck HS in 1959 and Bucknell University in 1963. Bart was ROTC at Bucknell and was subsequently stationed in Nuernberg, Germany. He was honorably discharged from the US Army at the rank of First Lieutenant. He then followed with a successful career in executive search. Bart loved the outdoors and had an innate ability to care for any and all domestic or stray animals that crossed his path. He was a true gentleman and a gentle man. Bart was a man of much influence in only a few words. Bart was a brave heart in the face of a debilitating disease and will be admired for his strength and conviction throughout his 10 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Bart will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, constant motivation and sage advice that helped shape the lives of those he loved. He was a husband who provided a shoulder to lean on and a hand to hold, and a father who inspired with love, support and friendship. Bart will be joyfully remembered by his family with every sunrise and missed with heartache with each sun down. Bart is survived by his wife, Katri, children Michael, Christer, Annalisa; daughter-in-law Heidi; sister Martha and brother John and sister-in-law Suzanne, and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church Street Redding, CT 06896. www.sacredheartgeorgetownct.org.
