Anna Duryea, age 99 of South Salem, New York passed away December 30, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital. She was the widow of Seth Austin Duryea, II.

Born on February 1, 1918 in New Canaan, she was the daughter of the late Daniel O'Connell and Annie Knudsen O'Connell.  Anna enjoyed many years of  gardening and bird watching in her home of 70 years and her many grandchildren.  She never hesitated to help with the care taking of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, she was known also for care taking of her peers into their 90's.

Anna is survived by her siblings Mary Price and Helen Monroe; her daughter and son; Shirley A. Duryea of Stamford, CT and Seth A. Duryea III of South Salem, NY. Her several grandchildren; Amber Bonfoey of Stamford, CT, Chris Paul of South Salem NY, Matthew Paul of Pawling NY, Anna Montes of Danbury CT and Sarah Duryea of Monroe.  Along with her many great-grandchildren;  Brianna Paul, Austin Bonfoey, Cody Bonfoey of Stamford CT, Christopher Paul, Emily Paul of South Salem, NY, Arianna Montes, Elizabeth Montes of Danbury, CT and Hunter Paul of Pawling, NY.  She was predeceased by her sister, Margret Wakeman and brother, James O'Connell.

A graveside service will be held for Anna at a later date of 2018 in Becks Hill Cemetery in Lewisboro, NY. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vista Fire Department, 377 Smith Ridge Rd. South Salem NY 10590.
