Obituary

Adriana Elvira Orellana Mena Brant was born on June 22, 1928 in Valparaiso, Chile. She grew up with her loving parents Elena and Juan, and brother Gilberto 'Gilo' in Quilpue, Chile.
A beautiful, intelligent young woman who fulfilled her aspirations and goals by earning a degree and embarking on a round trip to Europe and the United States, with plans to return to Chile. In Europe, her stay in Denmark was a special and memorable one, so special and memorable that she almost stayed there. Her next stop was the United States where she arrived in New York. As fate would have it, in New York she met her future husband Rogelio, and plans to return to Chile changed, she married and made the United States her home.
Even though they had been told that having children would be unlikely, she was blessed with a daughter, Suzanna Karen who she loved so very much. The love in her heart was not only for one daughter, she shared it with another daughter, her niece, Jennifer Ann.
She balanced her career and family over the years at DuPont in Wilmington, DE, Berol Corporation, CT. Dedicated to her work but her family always her priority.
For her, it was not an option that her roots be forgotten, she made sure there were regular visits to Chile to see her family as they were always present in her heart.
As a grandmother, she was the foundation that allowed her daughter to continue her career by caring for her two grandsons, two pieces of her heart, Robert Brant and Vincent John.  Her grandsons will never forget their 'Abuelita'.  She would beam with happiness when seeing, or talking about her grandsons. We know how proud she is of each of them.
She was always there, to make the happiest of moments extra special, and ready to help get through the toughest of times, with her love, perseverance, strength and faith in God.
An amazing woman. She will be with us everyday and forever, as another guardian angel. Making her presence known in the warmest of breezes and beautiful sunsets.
We love you Ma, Tia, Abuelita.
